ASOS fedora hat / H&M draped top / H&M wide leg trousers / Finsk wedge sandals / Balenciaga City bag
Making an effort to get ready and put on some of my favourite clothes has really been helping to keep me sane during this lockdown. It sounds daft, but the simple act of spending time getting ready in the morning has made things feel a little more normal, and not like I’m going to be spending the day stuck in the house. Obviously the temptation when you have no where to go is to slob around in PJs all day (and I’ve definitely had a few of those days too!) but I find that when I do my motivation and mood really take a dive. So I’ve been treating getting ready like a form of self care, and putting on whatever would make me feel happiest that day. Even if it’s far too dressed up for sitting around home.
I bought these swishy, super wide leg trousers from H&M last year in the sale and wore them to death all year. They’re a beautifully weighty viscose blend, making them comfortable and cool in the heat, but with this great structure too. They’re basically my perfect trousers, and I really wish I’d brought a second pair. Wafting around the house in them definitely helped to cheer me up, but now I’m so looking forward to being able to wear them to summer BBQs, pub gardens and weekends away again soon.
