I always enjoy when other people do these ‘what’s in my bag’ type posts, and I know a lot of you do too, I guess it must appeal to our curious nature! I think getting a glimpse into something which is usually quite private can tell you a lot about a person. I thought it’d be fun to do one myself, seeing as the weather has been too awful lately to go outside & shoot the usual Friday outfit.
My bag has recently become a bit of a haven for Apple products, my iPhone is permanently with me wherever I am (I actually feel lost with out it, as pathetic as that sounds!) & I recently got a new iPad mini from Argos too, which has now joined it. I’ve so been enjoying the larger screen of the iPad & the space it saves instead of carrying a book everywhere with me is a huge plus too, but I’m still trying to get used to using it as much as I should at home. The one thing I really can’t live without though, esepcially as I’m always on public transport, is music. I know I can use both of those things for this, and yes I pay for a Spotify account also, but I still love my ancient iPod! I’ve had this one since 2005, it’s scratched to pieces, dirty & going a little yellow, but it still works perfectly & is full of my favourite albums, and what more could you want?
I never leave home without my makeup bag, I have to admit there is a lot more makeup inside there which you can’t see, and I lug the whole lot around with me every single day. I hate to be caught out without something I might need, and it’s become a bit of a running joke amongst my girl friends that I carry virtually every makeup product ever with me! They’re always thankful when they need to borrow some powder or concealer though! I also like to have some perfume too, I usually alternate between Flowerbomb & Carolina Herrera’s 212 Sexy, both very sweet, and I think it surprises people that I smell of roses, cotton candy & vanilla!
Even though it’s winter I still carry my sunglasses with me, as my eyes are pretty sensitive to the wind & when you wear as much eyeliner as I do the last thing you want is them watering and smudging it everywhere! It’s freezing now so the gloves are also always in there, along with my new favourite hat, how cute are those ears?! The cute factor is quite subtle with it, which I like, and it makes me feel kind of like catwoman when I’m wearing it too!

Your version of this post is so neat Steph, everything is so perfectly arranged :) it’s weird to think that if I saw this photograph outside of your blog I would probably still say that it belongs to you. I thought I wasn’t interested in having an iPhone, up until earlier this year when my battered old Blackberry Curve gave up the ghost and I decided to get an iPhone purely because it’s what everyone has and I’m not very good with phones. I couldn’t live without it now, it’s so useful for so many different things! I don’t own an iPad but I’d probably feel the same about it if I did. My first Apple product was an iPod too – it was the first touch one, and I still have it with all my old albums on that I still love listening to when my funny ears allow it :) I love your cat hat, the cute factor is quite subtle and I think it suits you so much. xxx

Thanks Hannah, I love that you would know this belongs to me even if you saw it somewhere else! That’s so cool! :) I was the same, so against them in the beginning, not wanting to be a sheep, but I finally gave in a few years ago & honestly couldn’t live without mine now either! I’m still getting used to the iPad, but it’s great for sitting on the sofa reading blogs & that kind of thing, as my laptop is so old now I can only use it at my desk or it overheats!

Loved this post not only because it’s a what in my bag but something very different for the normal outfit posts :D just love your leather pouch and gloves. The perfume sounds so good! I am a huge fan of vanilla scents but candy floss and vanilla mixed together sounds like a dream will be looking into this it sounds like the perfect combination ;)
Would love to see more beauty posts as you have so much make-up and would be interesting to hear your thoughts especially on some Chanel cosmetics I have never tried any before :O X

The candfloss one is the Carolina Herrera one, it’s definitely one of my favourites & it’s such a good price for a perfume also, not super expensive like some can be & it really lingers too. I heard once that it’s Angelina Jolies perfume of choice too!
I was thinking of doing a similar post, but with the contents of my makeup bag? The Chanel powder is the best I’ve ever come across, I used to use MAC’s but this one actually works out cheaper cos there’s so much more product in it! Crazy!

Just checked it out online and it sounds amazing :) love candy floss! Will be buying this week sounds perfect and it also has vanilla love the sweetness of vanilla my favourite scent! That would be amazing as it sounds like you have a lot of make-up would love to see what else and it’s great the Chanel powder works out cheaper and sometimes I find this with certain products that cost more but have more product!

i definitely enjoy what’s in my bag posts! it’s so funny to read you have a reputation of carrying everything but the kitchen sink in makeup – mostly because you don’t look like you wear a lot of makeup apart from eyeliner/shadows and i’ve also been known to carry way too much stuff with me everywhere (hence my penchant for large bags!) i have a mini too and how good is the size? the original ipad is a bit too big for my handbag and the mini is so perfect, much lighter – glad you love yours :) and the cat hat is too cute!! i must have one!

I wear an awful lot in terms of different products primer/foundation/powder .etc but I like to keep them layered very thinly. Honestly, half of my friends don’t even ask me any more, knowing full well I will have it on me they now just say ‘Steph, pass me your powder/mirror/tweezers/concealer/blush .etc’ Ha! I would never manage with a small bag either!
Totally agree about the mini too, I didn’t like that the original really kinda needs to be held with two hands, seemed less travel friendly & I have a fairly small laptop anyway. I think the mini is the perfect size, especially for the type of things I use it for :) I have been wearing that hat constantly, it’s funny how many stares it gets when it’s actually pretty subtle!

The Balenciaga “City” is clearly a great bag with enough space and pockets to hold all your necessities! I do enjoy “what’s in your bag” posts. Must remember to do one soon myself..
Chanel powder is the best. I almost never wear foundation but sometimes feel the need for powder.
FAIIINT says
Yes please do! And I agree, never found anything to come even close to the Chanel powder.

This is a great size bag. I also love this type of post, I find it interesting and very personal! Perfect touch with the black thread, something I also carry in my bag alongside with a measuring tape(you never know when you will need it)
Merry Xmas and may your holiday season be amazing and peaceful xx

Yeah, I think it’s the perfect size, and quite light too, I wouldn’t hesitate buying another once this one dies. I usually have a measuring tape & various other sewing things floating around in there too! They always come in handy! :)

I love this post! I have those leather gloves too…I love them! I have trouble finding leather gloves that fit my small hands, and these are perfect. Where is that heart gem keychain from? It’s super cute.
FAIIINT says
They were a little tight on me to begin with, but they’ve stretched perfectly & fit like a second skin now :) I actually can’t remember where it’s from, I only remember I picked it up in Barcelona when I had a little splurge in a few of their Spanish highstreet stores, so I’d guess either Bershka, Pull & Bear or Oysho.
Laura says
wow so neat!! and love the cat ear hat (of course, but you could have guessed that).
As for the make up products, say you’re on a night out or special day event and you take a smaller bag like a clutch, what would you leave behind? some make up products or something else??

Hehe! I thought you would! ;)
I usually just take a big-ish bag to be honest & take it all! Hah! But if I really have to take a small bag I’ll just take my main essential bits of makeup – eyeliner, powder & concealer.

Ah, even everything in your bag looks beautiful haha. I was hoping to get Flowerbomb for Xmas but no such luck. SOB. ;) I have Spotify but still use my iPod too! <3
