As I haven’t been able to shoot an outfit for today, thanks to the constant rain & gale force winds here, I thought I’d do a mini roundup of my favourite 3 outfits from January. I always like when other bloggers do this, it’s nice to look back & see what worked & what didn’t, sometimes it’s quite surprising.
One of my resolutions for this year was to try things that were a little out of my comfort zone, and maybe even a little colour too. I dove straight in at the deep end with the Mary Jane Fashion golden sequined biker jacket at the start of the month & surprised myself with how much I loved it. I’ve worn it much more than I expected I would & this has lead to quite a few more gold or sequined buys throughout the month. That’s something I never thought I’d be saying!
I tried out hats too, though I stuck to the safe option with a chunky beanie. It has always just been stuck in my mind that they ‘just don’t suit me’, but all of your lovely comments saying how nice it looked have encouraged me to try out some other styles too! Despite thinking this outfit was pretty boring to begin with, looking back at the photos it’s easily one of my favourites, there’s a lot to be said for simplicity.
My favourite & most worn item this month is undoubtedly my Bracher Emden belt, it makes every outfit just ‘pop’ & you’ve already heard me confess how I got kinda stuck on it & wore it for almost a week straight! The River Island asymmetric skirt is a close second though, it’s always basics like this that you buy spur of the moment because they’re cheap & then wonder, after a few wears, how you ever lived without them.

Omg the Bracher Emden belt looks AMAZING! It’s so Ann Demeulemeester/Haider Ackermann bondage chic.

Yes! It’s from Jean-Pierre Braganza a/w12, but I instantly thought of Haider Ackermann when I saw it. Really can’t get enough of it at the moment, such a great piece! :)

I am in love with the Stardust outfit and your velvet boots – wow! Those boots are so beautiful, although I’m not entirely sure I’d be able to walk in them! That hat really does suit you – I think you could pull any style off though :) xx

Aww, thankyou! I wouldn’t call it much of a ‘style’ though, most days I just give it a bit of a shake & that’s it! Hah! ;)
