Le Specs Sunglasses ‘Runaways’ * / Glamorous Burgundy Blazer * / ASOS Spiked Gold Choker / H&M Shorts / ASOS Shirt / Topshop Boutique Bandage Wedges
I’m a little addicted to black blazers, I have half a wardrobe full of almost identical ones & so this burgundy version sent by Glamorous is a really welcome addition to my collection. It works so perfectly at giving my usual all-black a little hint of colour & I love the faux leather detailing on the collar & pockets too, it immediately makes me think Teddy Boy. I decided to run with this idea, as I’m a huge fan of tomboyish dressing & paired it with my favourite black shirt & these great shorts I picked up in the H&M sale, so I could make the most of the last little bit of Summer were having. I just couldn’t resist keeping to the boyish theme & climbing the big old tree in the park for these photos either, just for the record though, it’s not something I recommend in 5 inch wedges!
Another thing I haven’t been able to get enough of are these ‘Runaways’ Sunglasses from Aussie brand Le Specs. Their chunky, angular frame & jet black lenses made them an absolute must have for me & I love that despite their purse friendly price, they feel really quite substantial. No cheap plastic frames & flimsy lenses, as I had expected, instead they have a nice weight to them which makes them look & feel much more expensive. I’d actually never heard of the brand before until Sunglasses Shop introduced them to me, I’m so glad they did though, I already have my eye on another 2 pairs!
PS: Yes, I’m still as pale as ever despite the 100°F weather in Florida! I spent the entire time slathered in factor 50+ & hiding out in the shade, I don’t handle the heat well at all, and honestly, I rather like being pale…

burgundy and black always go so well together! gorgeous look steph, those sunnies suit you well. i love le specs, they are a bit of a local closet staple here so i’m glad to hear you like them! you’re so lucky with your colouring, me on the other hand spend a lot of time trying not to get too tan as i tan super easy despite never leaving the house without 50SPF, every single day! apparently being tan is not a good thing in asian culture (have u seen the super pale japanese girls??) the jap even have up to SPF150 ;)
FAIIINT says
Ah, thankyou! :)
Surprisingly, I tan pretty easily too as most of my family are quite dark, I guess it’s the one thing I can be thankful for about our dreadful British weather! I imagine it’s really difficult to not tan in Aus, even with super high factor sunscreen. I actually always wondered how the Japanese girls stay so pale, as they have pretty hot Summers too, I had no idea they had SPF150, that’s a bit crazy! Isn’t it strange how some cultures prize tanned skin & for others it’s the paler the better?

I’m a ghosty too! But we’re way more interesting right? I loveee your blazer, the colour is beautiful and the leather details are perfect. And congratulations for managing to keep your balance in those gorgeous shoes on that tree, I would’ve dropped xxx

Yes, for sure! I’d rather be pale & interesting than orange & fake any day! ;) There were a few wobbles & I almost gave the boy a heart attack, as I’m clumsy enough let alone at heights, he was like “please… just get down, before you hurt yourself?!” Hah!

I am loving burgundy this fall and your blazer is no exception! LUST!

Ugh, your hair makes me so jealous. I’m seriously counting the days until I’m reunited with my hairdresser. I’m totally bringing in your photo and gonna be like, “I want my hair like this.”
And yes, I agree with your opinion on Theyskens. His Theory line is slowly creeping into my closet and about to overtake the Wang pieces.
FAIIINT says
Aww, I’ve been growing my hair out for what feels like ages now & so it’s nice to hear it’s been worth it! :) It does need a good cut, but I’m trying to hold out so it has the chance to grow just a liiitle bit more first!

Beautiful outfit! The shoes are so cool.
I just do the same, FPD 50 and shades all the time, no wonder why I’m always pale.
Have a great week,

Your hair is looking brilliant in these photos, your porcelain skin suits burgundy and black so well! I love these colours together they have a cool Gothic Romantic vibe :)

I love how burgundy complements black so well. I’ve found the color to be a wonderful neutral. It’s deep enough to flatter fair skinned individuals like you and I. I’m also resigned to the fact that I’ll always be very fair. Oh well, the fair skin is treasured by those who live in Asia. That’s my rationale anyway :P

Your outfit is absolutely gorgeous and you have the most beautiful hair! I miss climbing trees, I loved it when I was a child, but whenever I think it might be a good idea I’m soon convinced it definitely isn’t by the time I get to the tree trunk!!! You look lovely, and you make pale look good :) I too am a non-tanner! x

You sound just like me re: heat, SPF and being pale.
Your hair is divine. Sunglasses, too.

Love burgundy and that blazer is beautiful! Love the outfit.

Yeah! I’m not the only one, I hide from the sun as well. I like having the same tone all over my body, instead of having traces from different lengths shorts etc. Love your glasses, they suit you very well
FAIIINT says
Haha! Yes, I hate awkward tan lines too! I’m glad I’m not the only one! ;)

Hahah, yes! Be pale and proud of it!! I try to keep myself from burning and/or getting tan as much as possible. I like my skin tone as it is now, thank you very much. No darker, no lighter. ^^
Anyways, I really like that burst of color from the burgundy blazer. It has a strong effect against the rest of your black outfit. Very cool. :)

As usual looking great. I think your skin tone is perfect for you, don’t change it-protect it!
I used to put baby oil all over my body & face (Oh Lord) to be more tanned/brown. Now I am suffering the consequences and I am a pro sunblock freak in our days xx
Alison says
I’m naturally unpale, but I don’t seek a tan too much either. I love your shades though!
Miranda says
Burgundy look good on you ;) And the pop of color is def a good way to change up an all black look for sure!

Hi Steph, I’m finally catching up with some blogging and I’m realising that I missed many of your posts…What a cool outfit! You made me smile when you said that you have many look-alike black blazers, because I have the same ‘issue’, but for the dark blue shade! Burgundy is a great alternative and I eyed a burgundy skirt for the FW…Thanks for introducing me to this sunnies label, I love when the design has a ‘retro’ vibe!
