Next Olympic Supporters Scarf * / All Saints Cat Eye Sunglasses / Ligia Dias Curb Chain Choker / ASOS Shirt
Finally it has begun to feel like Summer! It’s been so nice to be able to sit in the garden with an ice cold drink, flicking through magazines & playing with Nico. Fingers crossed it stays this way, though as I’m typing this it seems as though the sky is going come crashing down with all the thunder & hail!
With the sun finally out I’ve been really getting caught up with the Olympics fever everyone else seems to have got already. I’m not usually much of a sports fan but with it being held in London this year, I have to admit I’m finding myself feeling pretty patriotic & excited about it!
I don’t wear my hair up very often, but it has been far too hot & sticky to wear it down, so I’ve been taking the opportunity to practice & test out holiday hairstyles. I feel sort of naked with it all scraped back, so I always have to have a quiff, roll or huge bun when I tie it up & it has to be a little scruffy looking, I don’t do neat! This is a super quick & messy style, but I love that it keeps it all out of my face & off my back without having to use any tight hairbands or millions of uncomfortable pins. Next kindly sent me one of their official supporters scarfs as part of their ‘I’m Supporting’ campaign & it couldn’t have arrived at a better time, I’ve been looking for another nice, large headscarf for a while now. I love that the majority of it is navy, with just a few hints of red & white when it’s tied, I think it keeps it from becoming just another tacky souvenir & I could easily see myself wearing it long after the Olympics are over.
Of course, Nico hates to be left out, so as soon as he saw we were taking photos he wanted in on the action too! We couldn’t resist letting him have a go with the scarf & the photos were too cute to not share! I haven’t had the heart to tell him that there’s no sled dog event though!
PS: Next are currently holding lots of competitions for Olympics related prizes, all you have to do is enter a picture of yourself wearing one of the scarfs to be in with a chance of winning! Go here!

you are fabulous. i think you look stunning and should wear your hair up more often. i love what you did with your scarf. nico is also one of the most beautiful dogs i have ever seen although i am very biased because huskies are one of my favorite kinds of dogs. i am actually not getting into the olympics that much even though my parents are, but i am sure if they were being held where i live i would have caught the fever by now as well. i did really get into the EC but now that germany is out, i am not as enthusiastic, although i am sure i will watch some on sunday in any case. and cool competition idea. i will have to take a look at the NEXT website.

Hehe! I have to agree, I think he is beautiful too, but I’ve always loved huskies since I can remember, so of course I’m biased too! ;) Thankyou, that’s so nice of you to say, I always feel a little self conscious with it up, as I’m so used to it always being down! I never normally watch anything sports related, isn’t it weird how as soon as it’s held in your own country you suddenly feel very patriotic & like you have to watch & join in?!

I love this! You and your furry friend are the cutest photo partners ever!

The first and second portraits are absolutely stunning…Stephanie, you should wear the hair up more often: you look great and there is a certain vintage vibe in your photos, maybe because of the lovely scarf-styling. I’m excited about the Olympics as well as I managed to get the tickets via the lottery…cannot wait to go to London!
FAIIINT says
Thankyou! :) I’m not usually into vintage styling, but I’ve always loved the whole teddy boy/girl look since I can remember, I think it’s the androgyny of it & it definitely inspired my love for tailored jackets & shirts .etc when I was younger, so I thought if I’m gonna do a headscarf look I may as well go all the way & go for a full Ted look! :)
How exciting! We never managed to get any tickets, but now we are away on holiday for almost the whole ceremony anyway! Hope you enjoy it! :)

That scarf is lovely, it’s a lot more subtle compared to most of the Olympic themed clothes and accessories. And I love Nico, what a cutie pie! xxx

Love this outfit. Saw it on the IFB challenge post. Your hair looks adorable. I need to try to do that hairstyle! I have a hard time wearing my hair up, as well. It feels weird not having it down.
Your dog is gorgeous. I’ve been trying to find a similar dog to adopt lately. They are the most beautiful! Love the scarf!

Aw, Thankyou! :) & I agree when you’re so used to it being a certain way it feels so odd!
I would definitely recommend looking around at shelters .etc if you’re after a husky, there are an awful lot of them that get turned in because they can be a ‘difficult’ breed & make sure to do your research so you know what you’re getting yourself into! Nico has been so unlike any other dog I’ve ever met, I now know why everyone told me “There’s dogs, then there’s Huskys!” Haha! Good luck finding one though, they’re definitely worth it! :)
